Khaja Nizamuddin

I am Khaja Nizamuddin, and my place is over in Misrigunj, Hyderabad. This part of the city has its own way of doing things. It's crowded and can get pretty noisy, but it has a lot of heart. My address is right here in the middle of it all. I’ve been working from this spot for years. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint, but they've seen a lot of hard work. I don't really care much for those modern glass buildings you see in the newer parts of Hyderabad. I like it here where I can hear the sounds of the market. Every morning I come in, unlock the shutters, and start the day. Sometimes the tea man comes by, and we talk for a minute about the weather or the news. My work isn't anything glamorous, but it keeps me busy. I have some old furniture and a lot of papers everywhere. It’s a bit disorganized if I’m being honest, but I know where everything is when I need it. People come to see me because they know I’ve been around a long time. They don't expect anything fancy, and I don't give them anything fancy. Just straight talk. The summer heat in Misrigunj can be tough, but we just turn on the old fans and keep going. I’m just a local guy trying to make a living like everyone else around here. It’s a practical life that suits me just fine. I stay here until the sun goes down.
