Konark Bhagabati (Degree) College

Down in Kotanga, you will find Konark Bhagabati (Degree) College. We are out in the Puri area, and it is a bit quieter than the big cities. We offer degree courses for the local students who don't want to travel too far from home. The building is a simple one, and we keep things pretty basic around here. Most of our students come from the surrounding villages. They often walk or take the bus to get to Kotanga for their classes. We have a few different subjects that we teach, and the professors are usually just locals who have been teaching for a long time. The office is often full of papers and people asking about enrollment dates. We don’t have a lot of fancy technology, just the regular classrooms and some books. In the afternoons, you’ll see students hanging around the entrance talking before they head home. It’s a relaxed atmosphere, but we take the teaching seriously. We have to deal with the weather, which can be quite rainy during the monsoon season. Sometimes that makes it hard for everyone to get here on time. But we just manage the best we can. It’s a community effort to keep the college running and we are glad to be here for the people of Puri. It's just a regular part of life in Kotanga. We don't have many events, but we keep the library open as much as possible for anyone who needs to study.
