Gop (Degree) College

Gop (Degree) College is located in Gop, which is in the Puri district. It’s a place for older students who are working toward their degrees after finishing school. Being out here in Gop, we serve a lot of students from the surrounding villages and smaller towns. The campus is a bit more spread out than the city schools. We have different departments for various subjects. It’s a quiet place mostly, though it gets busy between lectures when students are hanging out in the common areas or the library. We have a library that has been built up over many years. The professors live nearby or travel in from Puri. They spend a lot of time in their offices or in the classrooms. It’s not a high-tech facility, but we have the books and the space needed for studying. We deal with all the typical college things like admissions, exams, and results. Students here are often the first in their families to go to college, so it’s an important place for the community. We don’t have any fancy bells or whistles. It’s just a solid building where people come to get their higher education. The weather can be tough in the summer, but the ceiling fans keep things moving. We just keep the doors open and help the students as they try to get their degrees and figure out what to do next in their lives.
