VS Hospitality

VS Hospitality operates out of House No 6, which we call La Chapelle House. It’s tucked behind the Bank of Baroda in Baner. This part of Pune has changed a lot, but our little corner stays pretty much the same. We aren’t a big hotel chain with a lobby full of marble; it’s more of a guest house setup. I spend most of my day checking that the linens are clean and that the rooms are ready for whoever is checking in. We get a lot of people visiting for work because of all the offices nearby, but we also get folks just passing through. The house is an old building, so it has its quirks, like a door that squeaks or a window that’s a bit stiff, but we try to fix things as they come up. It’s a quiet street for the most part, which guests seem to like. We don’t have a big kitchen staff, so breakfast is usually something simple and home-cooked. My role is to make sure everyone feels okay and has what they need without hovering over them. We don't do much in terms of advertising; most people find us through booking sites or because they’ve stayed here before. It’s a small, hands-on business. Sometimes it's just me and one other person handling everything from the laundry to the front gate. We just take things one day at a time and try to keep the place tidy for guests who stay here.
