We’ve been here on 5th Main Road in Thergaon for a while now. Vrindavan Sweets is just a local spot where we make traditional snacks and sweets every single day. The shop isn't huge, but it's enough for what we do. We have these big glass jars filled with different kinds of biscuits and dry snacks sitting on the top shelf. The light comes in through the front window in the mornings and hits the trays of freshly made pedas. We don't use any big machines, mostly just our hands and some old wooden molds for the designs. My brother and I take turns at the counter. Sometimes it gets crowded when school lets out because the kids like the small packets of chips we keep near the entrance. The street outside has changed a lot over the years, more cars and bikes now, but we stayed right here. We wash the floors every evening after we close up the display cases. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting heavy bags of flour and sugar, but it’s what we know. We don't have a big staff, just a couple of guys who help with the frying and the cleaning. People stop by to chat as much as they do to buy stuff. It’s just how life is on this side of Thergaon. We keep the prices written on a small chalkboard near the scale so everyone knows what’s what. Sometimes the chalk gets lost but we find it under the counter eventually.
