Shree Mohans Karachi Sweet Mart

Shree Mohans Karachi Sweet Mart has been a fixture at 544 Centre Street for a long time. Being in Pune Camp means there is always a mix of people walking by the shop. We start very early in the morning when the air is still a bit cool. You can smell the sugar and the ghee from down the street when the first batches are being made. The shop isn't very big, and the counters are usually full of different trays. We don't use any fancy machines to talk to customers; we just stand behind the glass and pack whatever they ask for. People come in for a quick bit of something sweet or to get boxes for their families. On Centre Street, things are always moving. There are cars, bikes, and shoppers everywhere. We try to keep the shop clean and the trays full. It’s hard work being on your feet all day, but it’s what we know. We don't have a big website or a social media person. The sweets we make are just what we have always made. Some days are much busier than others, especially when there is a holiday or a local event in the Camp area. We just stick to our spot near the corner and keep the lights on until the evening crowd thins out and it’s time to close up. Then we clean up and get ready to do it all again tomorrow.
