Ganesh Sev Products

Ganesh Sev Products is located at 1455 in Kasba Peth. This is an old part of the city, so the streets are narrow and it can be hard to find a place to park. We’ve been making sev and other snacks here for quite a long time. The building is old, and the kitchen area has blackened a bit from all the frying over the years. We use large iron vats for the frying, and it gets really hot in there, especially when the humidity is high. You can smell the chickpea flour and spices from way down the street. We don't use any fancy preservatives or anything; we just make it the way we always have. The finished snacks are kept in big steel drums before being packed into plain plastic bags. We don't have a marketing department or colorful brochures. People just know that our sev is fresh. Our customers are mostly folks from the neighborhood who stop by on their way home from work. Sometimes we run out of stock early in the evening if it's been a busy day. The floor is made of old stone, and we are constantly sweeping up crumbs and flour. It’s a simple, honest way to make a living. We don't plan on moving or changing how we do things. We just want to keep the taste consistent for everyone who’s been coming to us for years.
