If you walk through Chinchwad, specifically around Gandhi Peth, you’ll find Vrandavan Sweets. It’s been here a while. We start early, usually while most people are still asleep, because the preparations take time. Making sweets isn't as easy as it looks on TV. It’s hot work and you’re on your feet all day near the stoves. We keep the place clean, or try to, even when it gets crowded during the festival seasons. You know how it is. People wanting their favorites and everyone in a hurry. We don’t do much advertising because most people in Gandhi Peth already know who we are. They’ve been coming here since they were kids, and now they bring their own children to get a treat. It makes the day go by faster when you see familiar faces from around Chinchwad. We use what we can get locally. Some days are better than others. Sometimes we run out of things before the sun goes down and that’s just how it is. I don’t have much to say about ourselves other than we show up every morning. We make what we know how to make. The shop is small and the street is always busy with traffic and people walking by. It’s a noisy spot but we like it here. It feels like home to us. Just a simple sweet shop doing its thing and trying to keep things moving. Nothing more to it than that.
