Vishnupriya Gangadhar Mithaiwale

Vishnupriya Gangadhar Mithaiwale is tucked away in Sadashiv Peth, over in the Hari Pura area at Hathpalia 1315. If you know Sadashiv Peth, you know the lanes are narrow and there is a lot of history in the walls. Our place is no different. It’s an old-style setup where we don't have much in the way of modern decorations. We just have our workspace and the area where people come to buy things. The address 1315 has been home to us for a long time. The name is a bit of a mouthful, but people around here just know where to find us. We spend our days working with traditional methods. There is a lot of heavy lifting and stirring involved in what we do. The walls have a few marks on them and the ceiling is high, which helps when it gets hot from the stoves. We don't really bother with marketing or trying to look polished. We just wear our work clothes and get the job done. In Hari Pura, everyone knows everyone, so it feels more like a community than just a business. We start when the sun comes up and we don't stop until the trays are empty or it’s time to head home. It is just a simple, honest way of doing things that has worked for us for years in this little corner of the Peth. The stone floor stays cool even when the weather gets hot outside in the summer.
