Vidya Niketan School & Jr College

Vidya Niketan School & Jr College is right on the Main Road in Panchgani. Since we are located in a hill station, the atmosphere is a bit different than schools in the hot plains. The Main Road is often busy with tourists and locals, but our building stands out as a place of study. We have both the school and the junior college here, so we see a wide range of ages every day. Mornings can be quite chilly, and sometimes the mist rolls in right through the gates. The architecture is older, with solid walls that have seen many years of students passing through. We don't have a lot of modern glass or steel; it is a traditional setup that fits the character of Panchgani. Inside, the classrooms are simple, and the wooden floors sometimes creak when the kids walk on them. Big billboards aren't something we spend money on; our presence on the Main Road for all these years is enough for people to know we are here. Staff members often wear sweaters or shawls during the winter months while they go about their work. Despite being on the main thoroughfare, it is a quiet kind of place. We focus on the daily routine of classes and exams without much fuss. It is a local institution that has been part of the town’s life for a long time, and we just keep things running. The day starts early here when the air is still crisp.
