G.D.Goenka School

Our school is located in the Kawde Nagar area of New Sanghvi in Pune. We are right near the M.K. Hotel, which is a landmark most people in the neighborhood use to find us. The address is Sa 56/1/1 and it sits in a spot that gets very lively during the morning drop-off hours. You can hear the children playing and talking before the first bell rings. It’s a typical neighborhood school setup. We don't have a massive sprawling estate, but we make the most of the space we have for the classrooms and the play area. The roads around here can be a bit narrow, so things get a little tight when the school vans are moving around. Inside the building, the walls are covered with drawings and charts that the kids have made. It is not a very quiet place, but that is expected when you are around students all day. The staff room is usually a mess of notebooks and half-drunk cups of coffee. We try to keep a routine that works for everyone, from the youngest kids to the older ones. New Sanghvi has grown a lot and we have seen many new buildings go up around the school over the past few years. We just focus on the daily lessons and making sure the gate is locked at the right times. It is a busy, noisy, and very human place to spend the day working.
