Mahatma Gandhi Vidyalaya

Raj Guru Nagar is a busy place, especially around Wada Road where the school is. You can hear the vehicles going by all day, but once you get inside the Mahatma Gandhi Vidyalaya gates, things settle down a bit. We’ve got a big open ground that gets very dry in the summer, but it’s where all the cricket matches happen. The school building is an older style, with wide corridors that stay relatively cool. We have a lot of students, so the noise level is always pretty high, especially between classes. The teachers have their favorite spots in the staff room, and there’s always a bit of a line at the water cooler. We don’t have many frills here. It’s about the books, the exams, and making sure the kids behave themselves. Parents often stop by the gate to drop off a forgotten lunchbox or to ask about the next holiday. We spend our afternoons mostly in the office, sorting through files or talking to the local education officials. It’s a lot of routine, but that’s how a school stays on track. Sometimes we have to fix a leaking tap or replace a broken window pane, but that’s just part of owning a building. It’s been a staple of the Pune district for years, and we just keep the doors open and the bells ringing on time.
