Pandharinath Mohite English School

Ganesh Peth is right in the heart of Pune, so it’s always crowded and full of life. Our school at 96 Ganesh Peth is tucked away among all the shops and old houses. You won’t find a big grassy field here; we’re in the middle of the city, so space is a bit of a luxury. The kids are used to the narrow lanes and the sound of the nearby market. The building is a few stories high, and the stairs are always a workout by the end of the day. We’ve got teachers who have lived in this Peth for their whole lives, so they know the families of the students very well. It’s a very local feel. We have a small office on the ground floor where the fan never stops spinning during the hot months. Most of the work here is just the daily grind of teaching—explaining math, checking spelling, and making sure nobody is fighting in the hallways. It gets quite loud during the recess because the sound bounces off the nearby buildings. We don't have a lot of modern glass and steel, just old-fashioned brick and mortar that’s seen a lot of history. On festival days, the whole area gets even busier, and we have to manage the school schedule around the local processions. It’s a tight-knit place, and we just do our best to keep things running smoothly.
