Vaishali Sweets

Vaishali Sweets is located on Apte Road, and it’s a pretty straightforward place. We don’t have any big signs or bright lights, just the shop and the sweets we make. Every morning starts with the delivery of fresh milk and sugar, and then we get to work. The kitchen is small, so we have to be careful not to bump into each other while we are stirring the big pots. Apte Road is usually busy with traffic, so there is always a bit of a hum in the background while we work. We focus on the traditional stuff, things that people have been eating for years. I spend a lot of my time behind the counter, talking to the regulars who have been coming here since they were kids. It’s nice to see the same faces every week. We don't spend money on fancy packaging; we just use the simple boxes we’ve always used. Sometimes we run out of certain items by the evening, but that’s just because we only make a certain amount each day to keep things manageable. It’s not a perfect shop, and the paint might be peeling a bit in the corners, but the sweets are made the way they should be. We just keep doing what we know how to do, day in and day out, without making a big deal out of it. It is just a part of the neighborhood life here on this street.
