Vaibhav Sweets

We've been here on Nanpura Main Road 1 in Shivaji Nagar for quite some time now. Every morning starts the same way around here, getting the milk delivered and lighting up the big stoves before the sun is even fully up. It gets pretty hot in the back room especially during the festival months when everybody wants their boxes filled. Vaibhav Sweets is just a regular spot where people stop by on their way home from work or school. You’ll see the counters piled with whatever we made fresh that day. Sometimes we run out of the popular stuff by evening, that's just how it goes when things are made by hand. We don't have a fancy setup or anything, just the glass cases and some benches if you want to sit for a minute. The traffic on the main road is always loud, but inside it smells like cardamom and sugar. It’s a lot of work keeping up with the cleaning and the prep, but we’re used to the rhythm of it. If you walk past the first shop on the corner, that's us. We mostly see the same faces every day, neighbors and people who work nearby. We just keep doing what we do, making the sweets the way we learned years ago. It isn't a big operation, just a few of us making sure the trays are full and the floor is swept. We usually stay open until the street lights have been on for a while.
