Uttam Sweets

Uttam Sweets has a bit of a weird history with our locations being spread out like they are. We have roots near Akal Market in Ludhiana but we also operate on Sinhagad Road and over near Shastri Chowk on Alandi Road in Bhosari. It’s been a lot of moving around and trying to manage different spots at once. My brother and I usually split the work. One of us will be at the Bhosari shop making sure the samosas are being fried right, while the other is checking on the stock elsewhere. The Ludhiana connection is where we learned the trade, and we brought those recipes down with us. The shop on Sinhagad Road gets really busy during the evening when people are coming home from work and want to pick up some snacks. We have those big glass jars filled with different kinds of namkeen and sweets. It’s a lot of cleaning, honestly. Sugar attracts all kinds of things and we are always wiping down the counters. We aren't a big corporate chain. We are just a family that knows how to make milk sweets and snacks. Sometimes we run out of the popular items early and people get a bit annoyed, but that’s just how it is when you make things fresh every day. We don't have fancy uniforms, just comfortable clothes that we don't mind getting a little greasy by the time we finish our long shift.
