Umed Sweets

Our little place is in Bhosarigoan. It’s not a very big shop, but we make do with the space we have. Most mornings start with the sound of the shutters going up and the smell of ghee starting to heat up. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that; it’s just a few of us handling the stove and the counter. The neighborhood knows us well enough by now. We see the same people every day, some just popping in for a quick bite on their way to work. The trays get filled up early and usually by evening, they are looking pretty empty. We don't try to be anything we aren't. If a batch of snacks doesn't turn out looking perfect, it still tastes fine, so we don't worry too much about it. It feels like home here because we spend more time in the shop than we do in our own houses. The traffic outside in Bhosarigoan can be a bit much, but once you’re inside, it’s mostly just the sound of the pans clanking. We don't have a fancy website or a lot of rules. We just show up, do the cooking, and hope the day goes by smoothly without any of the equipment breaking down on us. It is just a basic shop where we work hard and try to stay friendly with everyone.
