Ultratech Cement

We are tucked away in Thakur Village, which is a busy part of Kandivali in Mumbai. Most days start with the sound of traffic and people heading to work nearby. Our space at Ultratech Cement isn't one of those glass buildings you see in the city center. It is more of a practical office where the real work happens. We have stacks of papers and old ledgers on the desks. Sometimes the heat in Mumbai gets to be a bit much, so we keep the windows shut and the fans on high. You can see the local shops from our front door. It’s a lively neighborhood. People here know us as the place where the cement business happens. We don’t have a big lobby or anything like that. It is just a few rooms where we manage the local supply. The tea stall around the corner is where we usually end up during breaks. We spend a lot of time talking to truck owners and making sure everything is moving on time. It gets dusty, but that is part of the job when you deal with building materials. Thakur Village has a lot of energy, and we are right in the middle of it. We just try to keep things running smooth without making too much of a fuss. It is a long day usually, but we are used to the pace of this part of Mumbai.
