Ujwal Mangal Kendra

Our place, Ujwal Mangal Kendra, is tucked away on that serpentine road in Wagholi. If you find the Shivnari Hotel, we are just behind it. It's a bit of a winding path to get here, hence the name of the road I suppose. We’ve had this spot for a while now. It’s mostly for weddings and those big family get-togethers where everyone brings their kids and cousins. The hall is a decent size. It’s not air-conditioned or anything like those high-end city venues, but we have big fans that do the job when it gets hot in the afternoons. The floor is plain tile and we try to keep it mopped after every event. Sometimes the decorations from the previous night take a while to clear out, so you might see some leftover flower petals near the gate. I spend a lot of time sitting by the entrance talking to the drivers or the caterers who come to set up. It’s a busy life when wedding season starts. We don't really do much advertising. People usually just hear about us from their neighbors in Wagholi or nearby areas. The parking is okay, though it gets a bit tight if too many people bring their own cars. We just try to make sure the lights work and there’s enough water in the tanks. It’s a simple operation run by local folks who know how a village wedding works.
