Triratna Pustakalaya

We've been running Triratna Pustakalaya here at Dapodi Dhamachakra Pravartan Mahavihar for quite some time now. It’s mostly just us looking after the books and making sure people find what they need when they stop by. The library isn't a massive place, but it keeps us busy during the day. Sometimes the shelves get a bit dusty and we have to spend the morning cleaning things up with a cloth. People from around the Mahavihar come in to read or borrow things for their studies. It's a quiet spot, usually. We don't have a fancy system, just a ledger and some bookmarks we've collected. If you're looking for something specific, you might have to give us a minute to check the back stacks because it gets crowded. We try to keep things organized but sometimes books end up in the wrong section because someone put them back in a hurry. That's just how it goes here. It feels good to see the same faces every week. We aren't trying to change the world or anything, we just like having a place for people to sit and read. The building itself is easy to find once you're in the Dapodi area. We usually open up in the morning and stay until the evening light starts to fade. Sometimes we run out of tea or the chairs creak, but nobody seems to mind much. It’s just a local library doing its thing for the neighborhood. We have some old newspapers too, which the older folks like to go through. The ceiling fan makes a bit of noise, but it's okay.
