Our place is called Book Shop, and we are located at Shop-191-A in Yerwada. It is a simple name for a simple place. We have been at this address for a while now, and the shop has become a bit of a local landmark for people walking by. The shelves are made of dark wood and they go all the way up to the top, so we have a small metal ladder that we move around when someone needs something from the high rows. The floor is tiled and sometimes has bits of paper or dust that we have to sweep up every few hours. It’s not a very big shop, so it can get a bit crowded if more than four or five people are inside at once. We usually have the radio playing softly in the background, mostly just news or local songs. The front window gets a lot of sun in the afternoon, which makes the covers of some books fade if we don't move them around. We don't use a computer for everything; we still have a big ledger where we write some things down by hand. It feels more real that way. The neighborhood outside is always noisy with traffic, but once you step inside, it feels much slower. We spend a lot of time just organizing the stock and talking to people who wander in. It is a basic shop where we focus on the books and the daily routine of keeping things running.
