Toccata The Chocolate Shoppee

Toccata The Chocolate Shoppee is located in the Camp area at number 144. It’s an old part of the city with narrow streets and lots of history. We have a small front window where we put a few things out for people to see. Inside, it’s always a bit cooler than the street because we have to keep the chocolate from melting. It’s a constant battle with the heat in this town. We spend a lot of our time in the back room working with the molds. There is a heavy smell of cocoa that lingers in the air even after we close up for the night. The shop itself is narrow with a few glass cases. We don't have a lot of fancy lights or anything like that. We just use the overhead bulbs that have been there for years. Sometimes the doorbell rings when a customer walks in and it startles me if I’m busy in the back. We make everything in small batches because we don't have the space for big machines. My sister handles the wrapping and she is much better at it than I am. She uses plain foil and sometimes a bit of string. It’s just the two of us most days. We like the Camp area because of the old buildings and the people who have lived here for generations. It’s a simple shop and we just do our work. We don't try to be anything else.
