We set up The Garlic Pod right here on the Mumbai Pune Road at number 7 in Pimple Saudagar. It’s a lively area, and being near the main road means we get all sorts of people walking in. Some are just passing through, others live right around the corner. We focus a lot on the kitchen side of things because that's where we spend most of our day. It smells like garlic and onions in here pretty much from morning until night. We didn't really have a big plan when we started, just wanted to cook stuff that tasted good to us. The tables are a bit close together, so it can get loud when the dinner rush hits. We try our best to get the orders out fast, but sometimes when it's packed, things take a little longer. We handle everything ourselves, from buying the vegetables at the market to sweeping up at the end of the night. It's a tiring job, but it feels good when people finish their plates. We’ve had the same stove since we opened and it still works just fine. If you’re ever around this part of Pimple Saudagar, you’ll probably see us out front or in the back prep area. Just a simple spot for a meal without any extra bells and whistles. We’re usually here until late making sure everything is cleaned up and ready for the next day.
