Tejaji Sweet Home

Tejaji Sweet Home is right on the Pune Chakan Highway in the Lohegaon area. Being on the highway means we get a lot of travelers stopping by. The dust from the road is a constant battle, but that’s just how it is here. We are at Survey Number 27-2-1-2. The shop is filled with the smell of fried snacks and sugar. We have big metal trays piled high with different items. It’s a very basic shop with a high ceiling and some fans that never seem to stop spinning. The traffic outside is constant, with trucks and cars heading towards Chakan all day and night. We open up early and stay open until late. A lot of the local workers from the nearby sites come in for a quick bite. We don’t have fancy seating, just a few stools and a counter. The floor is made of rough tiles that are easy to wash down at the end of the shift. Most of our day is spent watching the road and serving whoever pulls over. It’s a simple business. We don’t do anything fancy, just make the food and sell it. Sometimes the heat from the kitchen area makes the whole shop feel like an oven. But we are used to it by now. It is just a regular highway stop where people can get something to eat. We have been in this spot for a couple of years now and it gets busy during the morning hours mostly.
