Sunnys Retreat

Sunnys Retreat is tucked away near Crawford Market in Lonavala. If you see the HDFC Bank, you're pretty much there. It’s not a massive resort with elevators and gold trimmings, it’s more of a place where you can just kick off your shoes and not worry about much. Lonavala gets really foggy and wet during the monsoon, and we’re right in the middle of it. The building has seen a few rains, so it’s got that lived-in feel. We handle everything ourselves, from making sure the rooms are tidy to helping people figure out where the best local snacks are. Sometimes the Wi-Fi acts up when the weather is bad, but that’s just life in the hills. We have a small team here. Most of us live nearby, so we know the area like the back of our hands. We aren't trying to be a five-star hotel. We just want to give people a place to stay that feels a bit like home, minus the chores. The walk to the market is short, which is handy if you need anything. We’ve had families coming back for years, and they usually ask for the same rooms. It’s nice to see familiar faces. We keep the garden tidy as much as we can, though the weeds grow fast up here. It's a quiet spot most of the time, except for the weekends when the crowds come up from the city. We just keep the gates open and the beds ready.
