Sukanta Pure Veg Thali Restaurant has been a part of Deccan Gymkhana for a long time. We are located at Survey No 636 on Jangali Maharaj Road, which is one of the busiest streets in Pune. If you are coming from the Z Bridge, we are right there in Pulachi Wadi. We only do vegetarian thalis here. It is a big operation with lots of servers moving around quickly to refill bowls. The place is usually full, so you might have to share a table or wait in the lobby for a bit. We do not have a fancy menu to look at because everyone gets the same thali, just with different dishes depending on the day. It is a loud, bustling place where you can hear the clinking of steel plates and spoons all day long. We do not spend much time on marketing or anything like that. People just know where we are. The staff is used to the fast pace and they do not waste much time. We try to keep the food tasting like what you would get at home, nothing too oily or overly spiced. The building is older and the stairs can be a bit narrow, but it is home to us. Being near the Z Bridge means we get all sorts of people, from students to families who have been coming here for generations. It is just a honest, busy thali place.
