Soni Brother Nashikwala

We are over at 2 Suvarna Kondan Apartment, on Mastan Tank Cross Lane in Raviwar Peth. If you know Raviwar Peth, you know it’s a very tight area with lots of lanes and people everywhere. It’s the heart of the old market. Soni Brother Nashikwala has its roots in bringing stuff from Nashik, hence the name. The apartment is on a busy cross lane, so there is always the sound of handcarts and scooters passing by. We have sacks and boxes stacked up nearly to the ceiling sometimes. It smells like spices and old paper in here. We don't have a fancy showroom. It’s more of a warehouse and a small counter where we handle the customers. My brother and I run the place together. We get here early before the heat gets too bad. The building is old, and the stairs are quite narrow, so moving big items can be a real struggle. We have a small desk where we keep the accounts in big red registers. None of that fancy software for us, we like writing things down. It’s a bit chaotic during the festival season, but we managed to stay here for a long time. It’s a family thing, and we just keep doing what our father taught us. We don't really have a big sign out front, just some writing on the wall. Raviwar Peth can be a bit overwhelming for some people, but for us, it’s just home.
