Smt. Subhadrabai Ramchandra Bhumkar Science Junior College Lonikand is situated out in Lonikand, which is on the edge of Pune. It’s a mouthful of a name, we know. The college is mostly for science students doing their 11th and 12th standards. Since we are a bit away from the main city, it’s a bit quieter, but we still get a lot of students who commute in. The labs are where most of the action happens. They aren't fancy, but we have the basics like beakers and burners for the chemistry stuff. The students are usually pretty focused because they’re all worried about their entrance exams and boards. The building is a simple concrete structure, and we have a lot of open space around us since we're in Lonikand. It gets quite dusty when the wind picks up. We don’t have a big fancy canteen, just a small spot where kids grab snacks. Our staff is small, and we spend a lot of time just keeping track of attendance and making sure the practicals are going okay. It’s a practical, no-nonsense kind of place. We aren't trying to be the biggest college in Pune, just a reliable one for the local kids out here who need a place to study science.
