Shreeram Sweet Home

Shreeram Sweet Home is right on Airport Road. You can hear the planes and the heavy traffic all day long. The dust from the road is a bit of a problem, so we keep the doors mostly closed and wipe the counters constantly. We make our sweets in the morning before it gets too hot. The kitchen area is small, so we have to be organized. We have a few big pots and some trays that we’ve used for years. They are a bit dented now but they still work fine. We sell a lot of stuff to people who are just passing through on their way to or from the airport. They are usually in a hurry, so we try to pack things quickly. We use a lot of cardboard boxes and string to tie them up. It’s a bit old-fashioned but it works well. The floor is made of old tiles that are a bit worn down in the spots where we stand the most. We don't have any fancy signs inside, just some prices written on a board. My nephew helps me out in the evenings when it gets busy. We don't have a big philosophy about what we do. We just make the sweets, sell them, and try to keep the shop clean. It’s a lot of hours, but it’s what we know how to do. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just use candles until it comes back.
