Shivanjali Snack Centre

Shivanjali Snack Centre is right on BG Road in Ghorpade Peth. It’s one of those places that stays busy because there’s always someone looking for a snack or a cup of tea. We have the big kadhai out front for frying things, so you can see what’s being made right as you walk up. The tea is always bubbling in the pot, and we go through a lot of milk and sugar every single day. Ghorpade Peth is an old part of town, and our shop fits right in with the narrow streets and the constant movement of people. We don't have much of an indoor area, so most people just stand on the pavement with their snacks. It gets a bit messy with the paper plates and napkins, but we try to keep a bin outside and empty it often. The staff is just a few of us who have been working together for a long time, so we don't really need to talk much to know what needs to be done. We get the college students, the rickshaw drivers, and the office workers all in one big mix. It’s loud, it’s hot, and there’s always a bit of smoke from the stove. We just keep the snacks coming and make sure the tea is strong enough. It’s a basic life, but we like being right here on BG Road where everything happens. When the sun goes down, we start packing up the remaining food and washing the huge pots.
