Shardabai Pawar Mahila Mahavidyalaya

Shardabai Pawar Mahila Mahavidyalaya is located out in Malegaon Budruk. Baramati is a quiet enough place most of the time, and the college campus reflects that. Being a place for women’s education, things are usually quite orderly, though the corridors get crowded between lectures. The faculty rooms are full of old books and stacks of papers that need grading. We have a lot of students coming in from the surrounding villages, so the mornings are always a bit hectic with everyone arriving at once. The buildings have been here for a bit, and you can see the wear and tear on the stairs and the wooden benches. We don't spend much time on fancy decorations or anything. It's more about having a place where the students can sit and study without too much distraction. The library is probably the quietest spot on the whole campus, even when it’s full of people. In the afternoons, you'll see groups of girls sitting under the trees talking or sharing lunch before they head home. The administrative staff works out of a small office near the entrance, dealing with all the registration forms and student IDs. It’s a lot of manual work sometimes. We have a routine that we follow, and it seems to work for everyone involved. It’s just a local college doing what it does every day. We see the seasons change across the fields nearby while we go about our business here in Malegaon.
