Sant Tukaram Garden Mangal Karyalay

We have this space at Wakad, near the Athwa Gate. It is called Sant Tukaram Garden Mangal Karyalay. It is basically a big open area where people can have their functions. In this part of Pune, things are changing fast with all the new buildings, but we are still here. We spend a lot of time cutting the grass and making sure the gates are working right. When there is a wedding, it gets very noisy with the drums and the people laughing. We don't really do the decorations ourselves; people usually bring in their own decorators and caterers. We just provide the space and make sure the electricity stays on. Sometimes the wind blows a lot of dust into the garden, and we have to sweep it out before the guests arrive. It is a practical place. We don't have a fancy website or a sales team. If someone wants to see the garden, they just come down to Wakad and talk to us at the gate. We show them around, tell them where the parking is, and that’s about it. We have seen a lot of families celebrate here over the years. It is a lot of work keeping up with the maintenance, especially during the rainy season when everything gets muddy. We just keep at it, day after day, making sure the place is ready for the next group that comes along.
