Sahyadri International School

You can find Sahyadri International School tucked away in Gurujan Society in the Kothrud area of Pune. It’s a fairly quiet neighborhood compared to the main roads, which is nice for the students. The school building isn't overly huge, but we make the most of the space we have. There are rows of classrooms where you’ll find kids working on their notebooks or listening to their teachers. We have a small area where the kids play during recess, and it gets quite loud for those twenty minutes. Most of our students live nearby in Kothrud, so they either walk or take the small school vans that drop them off right at the gate. Inside, the walls have some charts and drawings pinned up that the students made. It’s not a high-tech facility, but we have what’s needed for daily lessons. The staff room is usually a mess of papers and half-drunk cups of tea, which is just how it goes when things are busy. On rainy days, the entrance gets a bit muddy because of all the feet coming in, but we just mop it up and keep going. Parents often drop by the office to chat with the staff about how their children are doing. It feels like a regular community school where people recognize one another. We don't do anything too flashy, just stick to the schedule and make sure the kids are learning.
