Sagar Sweets

We are based in Bhosari at S G Nagar, specifically near the cross at Sainikwadi in Wadgaonsher. It is a bit of a trek for some, but for the people living around here, we are just part of the local scenery. The shop stays quite busy because of the location. We spend most of our time in the back where the heat is, then come out to the front to help whoever walked in. The shelves are usually full by ten in the morning. We don't use any big machines for most of what we do; it is just us using our hands and the old tools we have had for years. The floor is made of old tiles that have seen better days, but we keep them scrubbed. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, and we just sit there with the door open waiting for the fans to start again. It’s not a quiet place because the road outside is always loud with trucks and bikes passing through Wadgaonsher. We have a small bench outside where older folks sometimes sit for a minute to rest. We don't do much in terms of advertising; people just see the shop when they are walking to the market. We keep the accounts in a thick book and try to remember everyone's name. It’s just a regular day-to-day life here, making sure the trays are topped up and the floor is swept before we close up.
