Sagar Sweets

Sagar Sweets is our shop located in the Sangavi Gurudwara Complex. We are specifically at Nandraj Sankul in Shop No 9-10, right by Famous Chowk. If you know the area, you know how busy that intersection gets. There is always a lot of noise from the traffic and people shouting, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. We spend our mornings making different kinds of sweets and snacks. The kitchen is in the back and it stays quite warm throughout the day. We don't have a big fancy office or anything like that. I usually sit at the counter and handle the cash while the boys help the customers. Some people have been coming to us since we first opened our doors. They usually want a quick box of something for a visitor or just a snack to eat while they walk. We don't do any big advertisements. We just rely on the fact that we’ve been here a long time and people know the name Sagar Sweets. During the festival season, things get really crazy. We barely have time to sit down or eat our own lunch. The shop gets crowded and we just have to keep moving. It’s a lot of physical work, lifting heavy trays and cleaning the glass cases constantly. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop in Pune, just a steady one in Sangavi. That is how we do things daily.
