Rutugandh Heritage Restaurant

Rutugandh Heritage Restaurant is tucked away in the Deccan Gymkhana area of Pune. If you know the city, you know that finding a spot behind the Deccan PMT Bus Depot can be a bit tricky with all the buses moving around, but we are right there in Survey No 638. We’ve been part of the Rutugandh Heritage setup for a good bit of time. The building has an older feel to it, which is why we call it heritage. It isn't one of those new glass buildings you see in Hinjewadi. We serve food that people in Pune have grown up eating. Most of our customers are regulars who come after work or families who have been visiting us for years. The chairs might creak a little and the walls have had the same color for a while, but the kitchen stays busy. It gets crowded during lunch hour because of the offices nearby. We don't do much advertising; word of mouth usually keeps the tables full. Sometimes the service is a bit slow when the crowd gets too big, but we try to get the plates out as fast as we can. It’s a practical place to eat without any fuss. You get your water, you get your meal, and you go about your day. We like the history of this spot and hope it stays this way for a long time.
