Our shop is out on Rajmahal Road near the Nanded Market Char Rasta. It’s a very busy area and we’re right there at the Nanded Phata. Every morning starts quite early for us, usually well before the sun is even up, because that is when the fresh flowers are delivered from the market. The floor is often wet from us spraying the roses and marigolds to keep them from wilting in the heat. It’s a messy job sometimes, with leaves and stems scattered all over the place while we work on various orders. We do a lot of garlands and basic decorations for local events or small weddings around the neighborhood. There’s always a lot of string and tape lying around on the benches. People come in looking for something specific for a puja or a party, and we do our best to put it together while they wait on the bench. It’s not a quiet job, especially when there’s a big festival coming up and everyone wants flowers at the same time. We’ve been at this location for a while now, and the neighbors all know us by now. The shop smells like jasmine and wet earth most of the time, which is nice, but it’s hard work on your hands and back. We don’t have a fancy showroom, just a simple space filled with buckets and baskets of whatever is in season. We just focus on getting the orders finished and out the door.
