Pravin Sweet Home

The shop sits on a corner in Viman Nagar 38. We open up pretty early, usually before the sun gets too high, just to get the cases filled. There is always a lot of flour on the floor by mid-morning. It is a bit cramped inside when more than four people stand in line, but we manage. Most of the glass on the display gets smudged because kids lean on it to see the yellow and orange pieces inside. We keep the fans running all day to deal with the heat from the back kitchen. Sometimes the milk delivery is late and everything gets pushed back an hour. That is just how it goes here. People from the nearby apartments walk over in their slippers to grab a small box. We do not have fancy chairs, just a stool behind the counter that creaks. The sign outside has a bit of paint peeling off the corner, but you can still read the name fine. On festival days, it gets really loud with everyone talking at once. We spend a lot of time just wiping down the counters and stacking boxes. The neighborhood has changed a lot since we started, with more big cars and new buildings, but this spot stays the same. We just keep making the batches like we always have. Sometimes a batch is a bit darker than the last one, but nobody seems to mind.
