Pradeep Sweet is our shop in Nigdi 41337. We spend most of our time dealing with sugar, milk, and flour. It’s a sticky business, honestly. We start early in the morning, around 5 or 6, to get the first batches of sweets ready before the neighborhood wakes up. The smell of cardamom and frying oil is pretty strong inside. We aren't a big company with a factory; we make things right here in the back. Sometimes the milk delivery is late, and it throws off our whole schedule for the day. We have the standard glass display cases, and we spend a lot of time wiping fingerprints off them. Nigdi is a busy area, so there’s always someone coming in for a half-kilo of something. We don't use fancy lighting to make the sweets look better; they just are what they are. The floor is old tile and it’s a bit worn down from people walking on it for years. We do all the work ourselves, from stirring the big pots to packing the boxes. It’s tiring to stand all day, especially in the heat of the summer. We don't have a mission or a slogan. We just make the sweets and sell them to whoever walks through the door. It’s a basic way to make a living, and we’ve been doing it like this for a long time. It is what it is.
