Warje Naka is always busy and our shop is right at Surbhi Hights, on the NDA Road. It gets dusty outside with all the traffic but inside we try to keep everything tidy. I’ve been here since early morning getting the milk ready for the mawa. Sometimes the stove acts up and makes things difficult, but we manage. People stop by on their way home from work to pick up a box of something for their kids. We don't have fancy lights or any of that. Just the usual glass counters filled with pedas and whatever else we made fresh today. It’s a small space at Shop No 10, so it gets a bit cramped when more than three people come in at once. My brother helps out with the frying and I handle the counter. We see the same faces every week. Some guys just want a single piece of gulab jamun in a small bowl while they wait for the bus. We’ve been in Warje for a while now. The rain sometimes leaks a little near the front shutter, but we just put a bucket there. It’s just how things are. We don’t do big advertisements. Most people know us because they walk past every day. We keep the sugar levels normal, not too sweet. If you look for the Surbhi Hights building near the corner, you’ll find us. We close up when the trays are empty or when it gets too late.
