Poona Sweets

If you’re heading down Aundh Road, you’ll find Poona Sweets in the basement of the Kavikta Complex. We are Shop No 4. It’s a bit of a walk down the concrete stairs, but it stays a little cooler down there away from the direct sunlight. We spend most of our early mornings making fresh batches of whatever sweets are in season. The basement has a specific sweet smell of cardamom and milk that never really goes away even at night. It’s a busy complex with a lot of offices, so there are always people coming and going from the other shops upstairs. We have our glass display cases filled with various treats, and we try our best to keep everything looking fresh and neat. Khadki is an older part of town, and the Kavikta Complex has been a landmark here for a while. We get a lot of people stopping by on their way home from work in the evening to pick up a box of something for their families. It can get a bit cramped when more than a few people are inside the shop at once, but we manage the space okay. The lighting is not the brightest since we’re in the basement, but it makes the place feel a bit more private and cozy. We don’t have any big flashy signs outside, just our name on the glass door. It’s a small operation we run every day.
