Poona Sweet

Poona Sweet is located on Sinhagad Road inside the Vijay Chambers building. We are right near Hotel Kamat in the Hingane Khurd area. It is a very busy spot and there are always cars and bikes zooming past our front door. We spend most of our day in the back preparing various sweets and snacks. The smell of ghee and sugar is pretty much stuck in our clothes by the end of the shift. We do not have any big corporate plans or anything like that. We just make the sweets that people in the neighborhood like to eat. Sometimes the shop gets really crowded during the festival seasons and we all have to work extra hours to keep the trays full. It is hard work standing on your feet all day but seeing the regulars come in makes it okay. We have been in Hingane Khurd for some time now and we know most of the people who live around here. The shop is not very large but we make use of every inch of space we have for the glass counters and the kitchen in the back. We don't spend money on big ads or anything like that because word of mouth usually does the trick. People know where to find us when they want something sweet after dinner. It is a simple life and a simple business that keeps us occupied from morning until night. We just like making people a bit happy with food.
