Plot 88 in the General Block of MIDC, Bhosari is where we spend most of our time. It is a typical industrial area, so there is always a lot of noise from the neighboring units and the heavy trucks rumbling down the road. We have been here for quite a while now. The building is a simple concrete structure with a big metal gate that sometimes gets stuck in the monsoon. Inside, it is all about the machines. We have various pieces of equipment spread across the floor, and there is always a faint smell of oil and cut metal in the air. The office is just a small partitioned area with a couple of old wooden desks and chairs that have seen better days. We don't have fancy air conditioning, just some ceiling fans that hum all day long. In the mornings, we roll up the shutters and let the light in, though the windows are usually a bit dusty. Most of the staff has been with us for years, so we all know the routine without having to say much. Around four in the afternoon, someone usually goes out to the tea stall near the corner to bring back cutting chai in small glass cups. It is a basic way of working, but it suits the kind of work we do. We don't really have a lobby for visitors, just a few plastic chairs if someone needs to wait. It is a practical space for practical work.
