Nirmal Bethany High School & Jr College

Nirmal Bethany High School & Jr College is located in Kalewadi, Pune. It is a busy part of the city, and the 411017 area has grown a lot over the years. We have both the high school students and the junior college students sharing the space, which means there is a big age range walking through the gates. The morning starts early here because we have to get the sessions going before the traffic in Kalewadi gets too bad. The building has several levels, and the science labs are usually the busiest places in the afternoon. We have stools and long tables for the experiments. In the junior college section, the students are a bit more independent, but they still have to follow the basic rules. The rainy season in Pune makes everything very green around the school, but it also means we have to deal with wet umbrellas and muddy shoes in the entrance hall. We have a small office for the principal and a separate desk for the clerk who handles all the certificates and forms. It is a lot of paperwork to keep track of. The teachers spend their breaks in a small room drinking tea and talking about the lessons. We don't have any high-tech gadgets in every corner, just the standard tools you need for a school to function. It is a solid building that has seen a lot of students pass through its doors over the decades.
