Out here in Talegaon Dabhade, life moves at its own pace. We are situated in Mawal Taluka, and if you live around here, you know how the air feels in the morning. Namkeen Makers started because we knew how to make snacks that people actually wanted to eat with their tea. It isn't a fancy factory with robots. We have big pans and stoves that stay hot for most of the day. The smell of oil and spices usually sticks to your clothes by the time you go home. We spend a lot of time sitting on small stools, sorting through ingredients and making sure the mix is right. Some days the heat from the kitchen is a bit much, but we just open the windows and keep going. Our neighbors in Mawal often drop by just to see what’s being made. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It’s just a few of us making sure the packets are sealed tight and the taste stays the same as it was last month. The floors get a bit oily and there is always a layer of flour on the tables. We use basic machines when we have to, but a lot of it is just done by hand. It’s hard work, especially when the orders pile up, but we like being part of the local scene here. People know where to find us when they need something crunchy.
