Naasi Phadke Sabhagruha

If you’re looking for us, we are tucked away on that private road in Sadashiv Peth, right near the Neelayam Theatre. It’s Room No 1, so it’s easy to spot once you turn off the main bit. We’ve been handling things here at the sabhagruha for some time now. It’s not one of those massive, cold halls you see in the newer parts of Pune. Ours has a bit of character to it. We spend a lot of time moving chairs around and making sure the floor is swept before people arrive for their functions. Sometimes it’s a small family gathering and other times it’s something more formal, but the walls have seen it all. We don’t have a big corporate team running things. It’s just us making sure the lights work and the water is topped up. The private road makes it a bit quieter than being right on the main street, which people seem to like. You can hear the city outside but it feels a bit tucked away. We try to keep things organized but sometimes things get a bit chaotic when a lot of people show up at once. That’s just how it goes with events. We’ve had all sorts of groups come through these doors. We just stay in the background and let people do their thing while we keep an eye on the place. It is a lot of work but it keeps us busy.
