If you find yourself in Sadashiv Peth, you might have walked past us at number 42 on Ghod Dod Road. We are N S Phadke Sabhagruha, and we are situated quite near the Neelayam Cinema, which most people in Pune know well. Our hall is a straightforward space where things happen throughout the week. It is not a modern, glass-walled building, but it has a solid feel to it. Every morning, we open up the big doors to let some air in before the day’s activities start. The area around Sadashiv Peth is always full of life, with people rushing on their scooters and the general noise of the city. Inside the hall, it’s a bit different. We spend our time arranging the seating, checking the fans, and making sure the floor is clean for whoever is coming in. It is a lot of repetitive work, but it keeps the place going. We have been in this 411030 area for a good amount of time, so we know the neighbors and the way the traffic flows around the cinema. We don't have a lot of office staff; it's mostly just us doing the hands-on work. It's an honest way to spend the day, looking after a space where the community can gather for whatever they have planned. We just take it one day at a time, keeping the hall ready. The 411030 area always has something going on.
