Morbiwala Sweets & Farsan

This shop in Gultekdi has been our family's main focus for a long time. We deal in all kinds of sweets and savory snacks, what most people call farsan. The smell of frying usually fills the whole street in the mornings. We have big glass counters filled with different items. It takes a lot of effort to keep everything fresh, so we make small batches throughout the day. My father started this and now I’m the one looking after the daily operations. We have a few staff members who have been with us for years, they’re basically family now. Gultekdi is a good area, though parking can be a real nightmare for our customers during the festive seasons. That’s when things get really crazy here. We spend all night preparing boxes and making sure we don't run out of the popular items. There’s always a lot of cleaning to do, especially with all the sugar and flour we use. We don't have a fancy logo or a big marketing plan. Most people find us just by walking past or hearing about us from their neighbors. It’s a lot of standing on your feet and dealing with people all day. Sometimes the scale breaks and we have to weigh things manually for a bit. It’s just a normal sweets shop trying to provide something decent for the local community. It’s hard work but we are used to the rhythm of it now.
