The shop is tucked away in Bhosarigoan, right at the Kailas Esplanade on L B S Marg. It’s a busy stretch of road, so there is always a lot of dust and noise outside. We spend a lot of our time back in the kitchen area where the big metal pots are. Making sweets isn't as easy as it looks; it involves a lot of stirring and making sure the heat is just right so nothing burns. Sometimes the smell of sugar gets really heavy in the air, but you get used to it after a few hours. We don’t really do much decorating around here. The glass counters are mostly filled with whatever we finished making that morning. On festival days, it gets really hectic and we barely have time to sit down for a tea. Most of us have been working here for a long time, so we know where everything is kept without even looking. It’s a small space, and we often bump into each other when it gets crowded. We just try to keep things moving. The floor gets sticky sometimes, so someone is usually mop in hand. People from around the office buildings stop by mostly in the evenings. It’s just a regular local shop where we put in the hours and go home when the trays are empty. It can be exhausting, but it is what we do.
