Millan Sweets

Our sweet shop is in a bit of a weird spot because we are up on the 3rd floor of Sankla Mansion 1 in Kothrud. Most people are used to seeing sweets right on the ground floor where they can walk in from the street, but you have to come up the stairs or use the lift to find Millan Sweets. It’s a bit quieter up here away from the Kothrud traffic, which is nice sometimes. We get the milk delivered early and start heating the big vats before most people are even awake. The kitchen gets really hot and the air smells like sugar and ghee all day long. We don’t have a massive display, just some glass cases where we put out what we made that morning. There’s always some boxes stacked up in the corner because people like to take stuff home for their families. We spend a lot of time just cleaning the trays and making sure the floor isn't sticky, which is hard with all that syrup around. It’s just a few of us working here. We aren't doing anything fancy, just the same recipes we’ve always used. Sometimes we forget to turn the radio off and it plays in the background while we work. We also keep some chairs in the corner for anyone who wants to sit down for a minute, though it's usually people just waiting for their orders to be packed up in the colored paper we use. If you’re looking for us, just look for the sign on the mansion building and come on up to the third floor.
